Why your dog should become an AKC certified Canine Good Citizen...

• The Canine Good Citizen® (CGC) program is designed to reward dogs who have good manners and stresses responsible pet ownership.
• All dogs that pass the 10-step CGC test are eligible to receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club (AKC).
• The CGC program lays the foundation for other activities such as obedience, agility, tracking, and therapy work.
• Many dog owners complete CGC training and testing as a prerequisite to therapy dog certification.
• Dogs that have a solid obedience education are a joy to live with; they respond well to household routines and have good manners in the presence of people and other dogs.
• The CGC program is one of the most rapidly growing programs in the American Kennel Club (AKC). The program is already having a positive impact and assures that the dogs we love will always be welcomed, well respected members of our communities.

Canine Good Citizen® - Class (Age: 6 months and over)

This class prepares you and your dog for the Canine Good Citizen test. We recommend completion of Level 1 obedience (or equivalent) prior to enrolling in this class. The CGC test will be administered during the final class session. The test fee is included in the cost of the class. Class size is limited to 6 dogs.

Canine Good Citizen® - Test (Age: 6 months and over)

If your dog has already mastered the skills taught during the Canine Good Citizen® (CGC) class, you are welcome to register for the test, without attending the CGC class.
